Upon receiving a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency of $10,000 to research and present at the third Annual EPA P3 Sustainability Expo in Washington, DC, this multifunctional prototype was created with sustainability considered on all levels. It is made with 100% cotton and hand dyed with all natural dyes. One can create 100+ looks for different occasions and seasons by changing silhouettes, adding and subtracting pieces, and using different color combinations…just to name a few! All these options essentially elongate the life span of the garment by reducing fabric waste.

With an inconsistent and volatile government, chaos erupts and emits a sense of anarchy through a nation. People trust no one and mayhem ensues. The masses of mistreated and exhausted populace self-express these feelings of disarray through clothing. Disregarding direction, color schemes, construction, and pairing combinations of hard metals and traditional textiles create a sense of irony that pokes fun at traditionalist society.

The biggest battles reside within one’s own mind. Wrapped up in self-destruction, with no solution besides self-expression—beauty lies in the process of the way one thinks. Here, a classic fallen from grace scenario is manifested into an evening gown. The deep black and over 100 hand sewn pleats represent the intricacies and torment of the human psyche.

In the year 2025, the human race resides on the moon. A new age has begun as the Earth became contaminated. Humans rejoice with a second chance to fix the mistakes of mankind: corruption, poverty, global warming etc. The decisions that became the demise of their downfall and destroyed their once habitable and beautiful Earth. Dressed to impress in multi-functional clothing and geared with harnesses and parachutes, the Reset movement is underway.
